Kelly McDermott is a Managing Consultant in the Real Estate and Construction Consulting practices of Navigant Consulting, Inc. Based in the Chicago office, Ms. McDermott began her professional career in construction consulting at Ernst and Young where she worked on valuation studies, job cost analyses, capital program reviews, and cost segregation studies. Ms. McDermott transitioned to a career in real estate when she accepted a position with CB Richard Ellis in corporate real estate, and focused on corporate real estate business development and account management. Currently at Navigant Consulting, Ms. McDermott has been involved in acquisition/disposition development oversight and program management, due diligence, feasibility studies, pre-development services, benchmarking analyses, valuations, job cost analyses, and cost segregation studies. Her clients include hospitals, real estate developers, opportunity funds, and corporations.
Favorite Aspects of REFF
I enjoy the ability to network among peers in the industry and keep up to date on opportunities and challenges others are experiencing. The events hosted by REFF are a unique mix of both informal and formal events which I feel appeal to a wider base of industry professionals.
Hobbies/Interest
I love to travel, and am trying to hit a new spot each year, with Fiji and New Zealand slated for this year!
REFF Responsibilities
As the VP of Programs, Kelly is responsible for the Program activities and the agenda of the Programs Committee. This requires Kelly to plan luncheon meetings and other such events.
