Sr. Analyst

CarMax, one of FORTUNE’s “100 Best Companies to Work For” six years running, has an opening for a Financial Analyst/Senior Analyst on the Expansion Planning and Analysis team. This team provides the analytical support behind CarMax’s investment in geographic expansion, which entails: prioritizing which markets to pursue, developing the optimal storing strategy for each market (number of stores, location of stores, and facility size), and analyzing which projects will make sound financial investments. The position provides a driven, strategic thinker, possessing strong analytical skills the opportunity to help build a Fortune 500 company in the midst of national expansion.

Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to, the planning and execution of the following types of projects:

• Evaluating future store growth and expansion opportunities
• Formulating and presenting new market entry strategies
• Performing financial analysis on potential investment options
• Collaborating with internal teams to produce sound new store investments
• Analyzing new store performance and sales trends
• Completing ad-hoc analyses as needed

Required Experience/Education

• 2+ years experience in Retail Expansion Strategy, Financial Analysis, or Strategic Analysis in a business setting
• Undergraduate Degree in a business or quantitative discipline, Graduate Degree desirable
• Demonstrated top-caliber analytical and problem solving skills
• Experience influencing change across multiple levels of an organization
• Ability to deliver great results while simultaneously managing several projects
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and thought leadership skills
• Demonstrated proficiency with databases and/or programming languages
