The Real Estate Finance Forum Scholarship fund was created in 2006 to encourage the rise of young women who have chosen to pursue an education in real estate for the purpose of building a career in a real estate related field. Each year one $2,000 scholarship will be awarded to a junior, senior, or graduate student concentrating in the real estate area.
UPDATED: The scholarship for 2011 was recently awarded. This year there were three scholarships awarded. Check back this fall to apply for the 2012 scholarship.

Caitlin Fitzpatrick -
Caitlin Fitzpatrick completed her law degree at John Marshall Law School in May with a focus on real estate and transactional law. In addition to part-time law school, Caitlin has been with Allstate Investments in the commercial mortgages group for five years. At Allstate she is currently a part of the loan workout team where she has been able to leverage her ongoing legal education and apply it to her work. Before joining Allstate, Caitlin graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with degrees in Real Estate and Accounting.
Emily Modick -
Emily Modick is a part-time MBA student at DePaul University's Kellstadt Graduate School of Business, concentrating in Real Estate Finance & Investment and Sustainable Management, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing from Michigan State University. She is currently a Marketing Coordinator at Lend Lease (formerly Bovis Lend Lease) for their Project Management & Construction businesses, and is also studying for the LEED AP exam.

Cherry (Yu) Chen-
Cherry started her career in real estate as an architect and urban planner, where she covered retail, hotel, performing arts and large scale mixed-use developments with a sustainability focus. She is currently in the Master of Business Administration program at the Booth School of Business at University of Chicago with concentrations in Finance, Economics and Entrepreneurship. Outside of classroom, Cherry practices underwriting and acquisition analysis through her internship at Mesa Developments and Elmdale Partners. Cherry looks forward to a challenging position in acquisition and development after graduating with a long term goal to syndicate transactions between the US and Asian markets.
